Diani Blue (formerly Asha Cottage) is a charmingly small, intimate and exclusive beach lodge, lapped by the waters of the Indian Ocean. Ideally located on Diani Beach, which was recently voted the ‘Best Beach in Africa’ by the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry: The 21st Annual Travel Awards, Diani Blue features just six spacious Swahili-styled rooms (all with AC) clustered around a central pool and overlooking the silver-white sands of Diani Beach.
Immediately adjacent to all the many amenities of Diani, Diani Blue is accessed via a bridge over a lily pond and stands amid exquisite tropical gardens, which are home to our own troop of Colobus monkeys. Ecologically sensitive, Diani Blue is committed to wilderness preservation, energy conservation, recycling and to ‘giving back’ to and supporting the local community that surrounds it.
Exclusive in concept but relaxed in ambiance, Diani Blue has been designed to echo the spacious elegance of the colonially styled Swahili villa it once was, while guaranteeing all the amenities of the internationally-profiled hotel it has now become.
Diani Blue offers an al fresco dining terrace, a resident’s lounge with private bar, an airy veranda with views over the pool, a dedicated beach health spa and a palm-shaded beach restaurant – The Edge, which looks out over Africa’s most famous bay.
Room
Diani Blue offers just six spacious guest rooms, thus guaranteeing both seclusion and exclusivity at the heart of this world-renowned destination. Each rooms stands in its own stone-built chalet with private entrance, vestibule and spacious ensuite bathroom. Presented with typical Swahili elegance, the rooms feature hand-carved hardwood furniture and king-sized or twin beds (with draw-around mosquito nets and fine cotton bedding). All rooms have full air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Azure Room
Azure Room is ideal for honeymoon and can be suitably presented with flowers, champagne or whatever you may desire.
Lapis Room
Lapis Room has a pool view and a sea view (or at least a view in the direction of the sea).
Cobalt Room
Cobalt Room feature pretty Swahili-style furniture and modern, glass-and-wood bathrooms.
Teal Room
Teal Room have elegant French doors leading to a private terrace with direct access to the pool.
Sky Room
Sky Room is provided with: hair dryer, dressing gown, free WiFi and luxury bathroom amenities.
Kingfisher Room
Kingfisher room has a separate interior seating area and its own shaded terrace in the gardens. Each room is fronted by its own sun-loungers and umbrella poolside.
Dining
Diani Blue is distinguished by the vibrancy and variety its cuisine. Team of chefs excel in the production of an unrivalled range of dishes, all of which are created using seafood fresh from the Indian ocean, locally reared poultry and meats and locally sourced market garden produce. Diani Blue guests are offered on a bed and breakfast basis in their rooms, but full-board and half-board (dinner only) can be provided. Continental Breakfast is served on their raised dining terrace and typically consists of: home-made bread, a variety of jams, yogurts, fresh tropical fruits and fruit juices, cereals, muesli, coffee, tea and milk. A full English breakfast can also be served (at no additional cost).

Recreation
The beach is one of Diani Blue's main natural attractions with white sands and crystal clear waters year round. A small local boat (ngalawa) is available for snorkeling, and numerous water sports and scuba diving are available in the area. Fabulous full-day dolphin-spotting and snorkeling excursions to the Kisite Marine Park can also be organised. The Ledge Café is the beach front terrace where guests can have drinks and meals, lie in the sun, read or simply watch the waves and people stroll by. Diani Blue also has a beautiful fresh water swimming pool and an air conditioned Snooker Room & Wine Bar equipped with a pool table, a lovely bridge table, cards, chess, back gammon and other games, darts and a library.
