Yavapai Lodge is the Grand Canyon National Park's largest lodging facility, nestled within the pinyon and juniper woodlands and about a quarter mile from the South Rim. The rooms have either one king or two queen sized beds, refrigerator, and coffee maker. With modern newly renovated rooms and many services within walking distance, this is a convenient place for families.
The lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, US Post Office and the National Park Service Visitor Center is short (approximately half a mile) walk. Yavapai Lodge is normally open March through November and during winter holiday periods. Most rooms in Yavapai West are compact with cinder-block walls, but they do afford guests the benefit of driving to the door.
Rooms
The guest rooms are traditional and reminiscent of a typical hunting lodge. They have either two queen beds or one king-size bed, a hairdryer and a TV. Several bungalows make up the lodge, with 4 to 16 rooms per bungalow. The setting is very rustic and woody. An en suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, a direct dial telephone, radio and individually regulated heating also feature in all bungalows as standard.
