Kuala Lumpur has a diverse culture. People are from different ethnic groups having different cultures and traditions – the Malays, the Chinese and the Indians. You can visit there by a 25 minutes train ride from the Kuala Lumpur Central. It is famous for the giant statue of the Hindu God, Lord Murugan. The street foods of Kuala Lumpur are simply amazing. You can try variety of different kinds of food of different texture and flavours. The majority of foods cooked are noodles or rice mixed with different items like vegetables, chicken, fish etc. Kuala Lumpur is an ideal place for shopping. If you are a fashionista who likes to wear clothes of famous brands like Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, you have come to the right place. If you want to shop from somewhere affordable, you have to visit Chinatown. 

The best thing about visiting Kuala Lumpur is that everybody speaks in English. Most of the times the tourists have to learn the new language of the place they are visiting but every Malaysian can speak in English. Whenever you are in trouble and need help never be afraid to ask for help from the locals. Kuala Lumpur is apparently a liberal city. There are no restrictions on what kind of clothes you wear. But if you visit any mosques or temples, you will have to wear appropriate clothes. It’s a way to not offend or disrespect their religious beliefs like if you visit a mosque or temple, it is a must that you remove your shoes before entering.

Kuala Lumpur has a tropical, rainforest climate and throughout the year there is not much difference in temperature.

It can rain at any time of the year. As there is no cool season, the temperature certainly drops after a rainfall, making things little bit more adequate for everyone. The best time to actually visit Kuala Lumpur in holidays is from May to June.

Holidays to Kuala Lumpur in and out of season

During the heavy monsoon season which is from November to March, humidity varies from 96 per cent during the day to 65 per cent at night. The city receives rain at any time of the year. So it is recommended that you wear light clothes which will be comfortable for you. It is also recommended that you wear sunglasses and a hat as the sunlight can be quite strong during the day. But you have nothing to worry. All the shopping malls and offices are air- conditioned so it will be easier for you to avoid the day time heat.

Magnificent Monsoon

There are two monsoon periods in Kuala Lumpur, from March to April and from October to November. The latter is kind of the worse one as it gets around 700 mm of rainfall. The wettest month of the year is November as it receives around 400 mm of precipitation. During the monsoon season, it might rain for more than an hour every day and sometimes it is likely to shift from morning to late afternoon. Yet, once it rains in a day, it won’t rain again and hence, the tourists can visit different places without inhibition. Every now and then there might be rainstorms and thunderstorms during the evening. The city receives excessive amount of sunshine throughout the year which appeals the people from all around the world.

Blissful Rainy season

Rainfall occurs in Kuala Lumpur throughout the year. The driest period is from May to July. In June the rainfall is less than 140 mm. The tourists mostly prefer to visit during the monsoon season. But you can also enjoy your holidays in Kuala Lumpur during the rainy season. You can visit the museums, shopping malls and city’s other indoor attraction. The Hindu temple at Batu Caves as mentioned before is absolutely dazzling in the rain. You can visit the Kuala Selangor fireflies which run along the Selangor River throughout the entire village of Kuala Selangor. It is the most famous attraction of the village. Though you have to pick a day when it doesn’t rain as the fireflies will not be seen while raining. You can also go for an amazing canopy treetop walk, which is offered by the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia. You can take walks in any weather. So it’s time you visit Kuala Lumpur during the rainy season and admire the beautiful and amazing city of Malaysia.
